“What does it say about the system when examination question papers are leaked? Is there no understanding that such incidents can ruin the future of students?
It is our right to question this.The Union Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi must take full responsibility,”Deputy Chief Minister Dr.G.Parameshwara said.
During his visit to Chikkaballapur district,Dr. Parameshwara participated in a protest organised by the District Youth Congress against the NEET question paper leak and addressed the gathering.
“Yesterday, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Smt.Priyanka Gandhi and other Congress leaders were detained while protesting peacefully in New Delhi.How is it right to detain those who stand with students and raise questions on their behalf?”he asked.
“You have witnessed the developments unfolding across the country.The law provides every young person with the opportunity to receive an education.
Every citizen must have access to education.Dr.B.R. Ambedkar enshrined the Government’s responsibility to ensure education through the Constitution.
Lakhs of young people have pursued medical and engineering courses and are now working across the world,”he said.
He further said that the State Government had earlier conducted the Common Entrance Test (CET) without any problems.
“When I was the Higher Education Minister, many students appeared for the CET without facing such difficulties.
The Union Government later replaced the existing system with NEET.Although many opposed the decision, students eventually accepted it.Now,question papers are being leaked,placing the future of students at risk,”he said.
“The future of the country’s youth is of paramount importance.Providing them with quality education and employment must be our priority.Young people are the builders of the nation,and we must help shape their future,”he said.
“I have come here today to review the situation in the district.I also came here to join my voice with yours. Your future is extremely important to us.The Congress Party has always worked to build a better future for the youth,”he said.
He added that the State Government had issued orders to fill 72,000 government vacancies and assured that more recruitment drives would be undertaken in the future.
“SC and ST students have submitted representations seeking the filling of backlog vacancies. Accordingly, backlog recruitment will be undertaken.
We will provide employment opportunities to young people from all sections of society.This is a priority for our Government,”he said.
MLA Pradeep Eshwar,District Congress President Keshava Reddy,Block Congress Presidents Nagabhushan and Rakshith Reddy,and District Youth Congress President Kuber Achu were present at the protest.
