The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested a man allegedly involved in manufacturing and supplying handmade firearms to Bengaluru,following leads obtained during the investigation of an earlier arms trafficking case.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Seemant Kumar Singh told reporters that the accused,identified as Jenzir alias paapad,was arrested in Singhana town of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh,for allegedly operating an illegal firearm manufacturing unit from his house.
During investigation it was found that Jenzir was allegedly manufacturing handmade pistols and ammunition and supplying them to buyers in Bengaluru and other parts of the country.
He would offer to sell countrymade weapons for Rs. 20,000 to the locals but for outside states he would price it for Rs.50,000.
The breakthrough came during the investigation of an Arms Act case registered on February 25,2026.
In that case, CCB officers had arrested Imran and two others,seizing four-32 calibre pistols,52 live cartridges, revolver components and three mobile phones in may this year .
During interrogation,Imran allegedly disclosed that the firearms had been procured from Jenzir.
Acting on this information,a CCB team travelled to Indore and,with the assistance of the local police, arrested the accused on July 13.
A team of Police led by DCP crime,Raja Imam Khasim raided Janzir house cum manufacturing unit recovered one handmade pistol,four live cartridges,and materials and tools allegedly used for manufacturing country-made firearms from the accused’s possession.
Investigators said Jenzir confessed to manufacturing illegal firearms for financial gain and supplying them to buyers across different states.
The accused has been produced before the jurisdictional court and remanded as further investigation continues to identify other members of the interstate illegal arms supply network.
