A 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly beating his father to death following a quarrel while they were under the influence of alcohol in Bengaluru’s Varthur police station limits.
The deceased has been identified as Chandra Bahadur Shahi (52),a native of Nepal and a security guard residing in Panathur Belagere.
The accused,his son Dorna Bahadur Shahi (24),has been arrested by the Varthur police.
Senior officer told reporters that,both father and son worked as security guards.
On Sunday night,an argument reportedly broke out between them at their residence over a trivial issue after consuming alcohol.
During the altercation,the accused allegedly assaulted his father with an iron rod,causing severe injuries.
Chandra Bahadur Shahi was rushed to a nearby hospital by his son and friends, but he succumbed to his injuries during treatment later that night.
After receiving information about the incident,Varthur police visited the spot,registered a case and arrested the accused.Further investigation is underway.
