BBMP Chief Commissioner Gaurav Gupta tells officials to collect property tax dues from defaulters

In the BBMP limits,the tax payers who have not paid their property tax,should pay up immediately and officials are asked to enforce strict collection of the taxes,instructed BBMP Chief Commissioner,Gaurav Gupta.

In a meeting convened with regards to the property taxes in the BBMP limits,the BBMP Chief Commissioner said that the revenue officers, assistant revenue officers should be on work mode in collection of the taxes.

Citizens who have not paid their property tax, should be issued notice and tax should be collected. Whichever lands/properties are not coming under the tax slab,should be included in the tax slab and brought to the tax collection.It is also instructed to collect the remaining relaxation fee during the tax collection.

If the property owners have not done Self Assessment Scheme,the revenue officers should visit the place,should fix the property tax and it should be collected, he instructed.

In the Palike Limits,whoever has large tax money as a due -top defaulters list should be prepared and legal action to be taken and tax should be collected.In this regard,necessary steps should be taken.

In the current year a target of Rs.4,000 crores has been decided to be collected from property tax and till now 2,483.91 crores has been collected.Every tax collector should be given a target approach, he instructed.

In the meeting Special Commissioner (Revenue) Dr Deepak R L and all zonal joint commissioners, revenue department deputy commissioners and other revenue officers were present.
