A 60-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was killed after a BMTC electric bus rammed into his vehicle near KR Circle on Sheshadri Road in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Krishnamurthy,a resident of KR Puram.
According to preliminary information,the BMTC bus allegedly lost control due to a suspected brake failure and crashed into an auto-rickshaw that was stationary on the roadside.
Krishnamurthy sustained grievous injuries in the impact and died in the accident.
Police reached the spot,shifted the body for post-mortem,and registered a case.
The exact cause of the accident, including whether a mechanical failure led to the crash,will be established after a detailed investigation.
The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of BMTC buses following a series of recent fatal accidents in the city.
