Bengaluru City Police’s Namma 112 Emergency Response System played a crucial role in two separate incidents on July 10,leading to the safe rescue of six schoolboys who had planned to travel to Delhi and the reunion of a missing child with his family.
In the first incident,at around 10:40 am,the management of Jnanadeepa Bhargavi School in Allalasandra, under the jurisdiction of Yelahanka Police Station, alerted the Namma 112 helpline after six Class 8 students failed to report to school.
The Namma 112 control room immediately alerted Hoysala-164,and ASI Venkatesh and Police Constable Raju Patil reached the school within five minutes.
During the inquiry,a classmate informed teachers that the boys had planned to travel to Delhi for cricket training.
Police contacted the parents, who confirmed that the children had left home for school but never arrived.
Based on information that one of the boys was carrying a mobile phone, officers tracked the device’s location to KSR Bengaluru (Majestic) Railway Station.
In coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), the police located and rescued all six children before they could leave the city.
The children were taken to a Child Care Centre for counselling and legal formalities before being safely reunited with their parents.
In a separate incident later the same day,at around 5:11 pm,a passer-by noticed a young boy standing alone in a confused state near D-Mart,Electronic City, and alerted the Namma 112 helpline.
The control room dispatched Hoysala-191,and ASI Siddarama K.S.along with Assistant Head Constable Kumar N.reached the spot. After speaking with the child, the officers established his identity and confirmed that his parents lived in Hongasandra.
The child was taken to the police station, where officers traced and contacted his parents. After completing verification procedures, the boy was safely reunited with his family.
Bengaluru City Police said both incidents highlight the effectiveness of the Namma 112 Emergency Response System, quick coordination between police units and other agencies, and the role of timely public intervention in ensuring the safety of children.
