The Karnataka government has dealt another major blow to inter-state drug trafficking networks,with Bengaluru City Police seizing narcotics worth Rs.30.43 crore and arresting eight accused,including a foreign national,Home Minister Priyank Kharge said on Saturday.
According to the minister,police registered five cases and seized 29 kg of MDMA,20 grams of cocaine,and 1,000 ecstasy tablets in a series of coordinated operations.

The seized contraband has an estimated value of Rs.30.43 crore,with a street value of around ₹60.86 crore.
Three Major Operations:
In the first operation under the jurisdiction of Hebbal Police Station in Bengaluru North Division,police arrested a Foreign National and recovered 17.282 kg of MDMA valued at Rs.17.28 crore.Investigators are probing the inter-state supply network linked to the accused.
In another operation,the CCB Anti-Narcotics Wing seized 6.718 kg of MDMA and 20 grams of cocaine,worth Rs.7.15 crore.
Four accused were arrested,and investigators are examining the source of the drugs and the financial network behind the racket.
In a third case registered by Girinagar Police Station, police recovered 5 kg of MDMA and 1,000 ecstasy tablets, valued at around Rs.6 crore.
Zero Tolerance Against Drugs:
Kharge reiterated that the Karnataka government is following a “zero tolerance” policy against narcotics and is committed to dismantling drug syndicates operating in the state.
He said there would be no compromise with those involved in the production,transportation,sale,or consumption of narcotic substances.
Police units across the state are working in coordination while keeping a close watch on both inter-state and international drug trafficking networks.
The minister added that recent enforcement drives by Bengaluru City Police have resulted in several arrests, numerous cases,and seizures of narcotics worth crores of rupees,significantly disrupting the drug supply chain.
Appealing for public participation,Kharge urged parents, educational institutions,and citizens to cooperate with the police by promptly reporting suspicious activities to help build a drug-free society.
