With a view to facilitate safe and smooth movement of the public,under the orders of the Minister for Greater Bengaluru Development,Krishna Byre Gowda,and under the directions of the Bengaluru West City Corporation Commissioner,Dr.Rajendra K.V,the footpath encroachment clearance drive is underway in the corporation limits, and 14.80 km of encroachment has been cleared today.
Unauthorized encroachments on various footpaths of different arterial and sub-arterial roads within the corporation limits were cleared since this morning in collaboration with other departments,including officers from the Traffic and Law and Order Police divisions.
During this drive,19 petty shops,24 pushcarts,23 AC sheet projections/canopies,37 steps and ramps,82 advertisement pillars and boards,1 temporary/permanent shed,and 11.55 tons of construction waste/debris were cleared.
