“Wife refused to return home: man slits wife, sister-in-law’s throats in Chintamani”
A gruesome double murder in JJ Colony of Chintamani has taken a shocking turn, with police revealing that the accused allegedly killed his estranged wife and her younger sister after the wife refused to return to their matrimonial home.
Senior officer told reporters that the accused, identified as Ejaz, had been married to Shama for eight years, and the couple has three children.

Around two months ago,Shama left the matrimonial home with the children following frequent domestic disputes and began living with her parents.
Despite repeated requests by Ejaz for her to return, she allegedly refused.
On Monday morning,Ejaz reportedly travelled from Kolar to Chintamani, entered the house where Shama was staying, and allegedly slit her throat while she was asleep. He then allegedly killed her younger sister, Reshma, before fleeing the scene.
During the course of investigation it was revealed that after the murders,Ejaz took his three children on his motorcycle to Kolar, left them at his house, and later walked into Galpet Police Station, where he allegedly confessed to the double murder and surrendered.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that Ejaz was addicted to alcohol and gambling, leading to frequent quarrels between the couple.Police suspect that Shama had been considering divorce due to the alleged harassment.
During questioning,Ejaz allegedly told investigators that Reshma and other members of Shama’s family were preventing his wife from returning to him.
Police believe this was the motive behind Reshma’s murder as well.
The Chintamani Town Police have taken the accused into custody and are continuing the investigation from all angles.
Police are verifying his statements and collecting evidence to establish the sequence of events and motive behind the crime.
