Yeshwanthpur Traffic police in record time have detained one person and identified three two-wheelers involved in an incident in which a group of riders allegedly blocked the path of an ambulance while performing dangerous wheelies on a city road.
The detained individual has been identified as Rahul. Police said the remaining accused were not found at their residences during raids and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend them.
The incident came to light after a video showing three motorcyclists obstructing the ambulance while performing stunts went viral on social media,triggering widespread public outrage.
Following the circulation of the video,police launched an investigation,identified the three vehicles involved,and detained one suspect.A search is continuing to locate the other accused.
DCP Traffic North Division,B Jaya Prakash told reporters that our officers acted swiftly after the video came to the department’s attention on social media.
“We have taken the incident seriously after social media users drew the department’s attention to it.
On Monday morning,we detained one person in connection with the incident.He is being interrogated, and based on the investigation,we will take stringent action against all the offenders involved,”he said.
He further said preventing an ambulance from proceeding was a grave offence as it could put a patient’s life at risk all the other riders will be nabbed soon and further investigation is underway he added.
