Grocery shop owner electrocuted at a construction site while fixing bulb in outskirts of Bengaluru

A 35-year-old man died after being accidentally electrocuted at a construction site in Doddaballapura on the outskirts of Bengaluru,police said on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Sathish,a resident of Chaitanya Nagar who owned a grocery shop in the area.

According to police,construction work was underway near Dattatreya Layout to build a storage shed for grocery items intended for Sathish’s shop.

On Thursday,Sathish visited the site to inspect the progress of the work when he accidentally came into contact with a live electric source and suffered a severe electric shock.

He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Doddaballapura Government Hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts,he later succumbed to his injuries.Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
