Road Accident Involving OHM Mobility and Tata Smart Mobility Buses Near KR Circle–BMTC Passengers Safe; Injured Under Treatment says BMTC

A road traffic accident involving an OHM Mobility-operated BMTC bus and a Tata Smart Mobility electric bus occurred near KR Circle at around 8:30 AM today.

The BMTC bus bearing Vehicle No.AQ 4163,operating on Schedule No. 360B/15 from Kempegowda Bus Station (KBS) to Attibele,was proceeding from the KR Circle signal when it was hit from the rear by a Depot-3 Tata Smart Mobility electric bus bearing registration KA-03-AJ-6163.

All passengers travelling in the Depot-7 OHM Mobility-operated BMTC bus are safe, and no major injuries were reported among them.

Approximately five passengers travelling in the Tata Smart Mobility electric bus sustained minor injuries and were immediately shifted to St.Martha’s Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Tata Smart Mobility bus also sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment.His condition is reported to be stable.

Both vehicles have been removed from the accident site, and normal traffic movement has been restored.

Immediately upon receiving information about the incident, the concerned BMTC Divisional Controller, senior BMTC officials,and officials of Tata Smart Mobility rushed to the spot,supervised the rescue and relief operations,and ensured that the injured were shifted to the hospital without delay.

Minister for Transport,Bairathi Suresh,Transport Secretary,Smt.Deepa Cholan,IAS,and Managing Director, BMTC,Raghunandan Murthy,IAS,visited St. Martha’s Hospital and enquired about the health condition of the injured passengers and the driver.

They also interacted with the hospital authorities and directed them to provide the best possible medical care to all those injured in the accident.

BMTC is closely monitoring the situation and extending all necessary assistance to the injured and their families. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the competent authorities.
