“I Was Unaware of the Feed Cutoff;Directives Issued for Uninterrupted Live Telecast,”Clarifies Minister Rajmohan”.
A major political controversy has erupted in Tamil Nadu following an abrupt disruption of the live telecast during the state legislative assembly proceedings.
The incident has triggered a fierce war of words between the opposition and the government benches, leading to a swift clarification from the treasury department.
The dispute began when the Leader of the Opposition, Udhayanidhi Stalin, sent a strongly worded official letter to the Assembly Speaker,J.C.D.Prabhakar.

In the letter, the opposition slammed the ruling administration for deliberately shutting down the live television feeds during crucial legislative debates.
Udhayanithi Stalin explicitly labeled the broadcast disruption as an act that”disrespects and insults the Legislative Assembly and its elected MLAs.”
The opposition pointed out a calculated pattern:while the government resolution regarding the Mekedatu dam issue on Friday was streamed without issues, the live feed was allegedly blacked out the moment discussions shifted to the motion of thanks for the Governor’s Address a segment where the opposition intended to critique the government.
Udhayanithi Stalin accused the administration of orchestrating a selective evening highlight reel that heavily favored the ruling party while completely censoring the voices of opposition members.
He urged the Speaker to step in immediately to safeguard democratic transparency.
Responding swiftly to the intense backlash from the opposition, School Education Minister,Rajmohan addressed reporters in Chennai.
The prominent headline of his press briefing reads:
*”Appropriate Action to Live Stream Assembly Proceedings: Minister Rajmohan Interview.”
When reporters pressed the Minister on why the live feed was suddenly disconnected during the Governor’s address debate,Minister Rajmohan defended the government’s intentions, stating that there was no deliberate intention to censor the house.
>”I was inside the Assembly chamber at the time and believed the live stream was progressing smoothly.I was completely unaware that the live feed had been cut off,” Minister Rajmohan clarified to reporters.
“I only found out about the broadcast interruption afterward when security personnel stationed outside the house informed me.”
Guarantees Issued for Future Streams:
Seeking to put the controversy to rest ahead of the highly anticipated assembly sessions, the Minister assured the public and the media that there was no foul play.
Minister Rajmohan stated that he has already held discussions with the relevant departmental officials handling the broadcast logistics.
He concluded his briefing by announcing that explicit directives have been issued to rectify any technical or coordination lapses, firmly stating that “appropriate actions have been taken to ensure that the assembly proceedings will be live-streamed continuously without further interruptions.”
