Lokayukta police trapped and arrested public prosecutor for accepting Rs.5000 bribe

A public prosecutor attached to the City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru was caught red-handed by the Karnataka Lokayukta Police while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from a complainant on Monday.

The accused,has been identified as,Savitha Naveen Patil, 55,serving as Public Prosecutor at CCH-54,Bengaluru, was allegedly demanding a bribe to submit objections in Case registered at the Chennamanakere Achukattu Police Station.

The complainant,Manjunath,40,a resident of Banashankari,approached the Lokayukta alleging that the prosecutor had demanded Rs.5,000 to carry out the official work.

Based on the complaint,Lokayukta Police registered Case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

During the trap operation,the accused was allegedly caught while accepting the Rs.5,000 bribe amount and was secured by the Lokayukta team and arrested for further investigation.
