A 45-year-old woman was allegedly hacked to death by her husband over suspicions of an extramarital affair in Dasarahalli village of Ramanagara taluk on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Nagamma (45),a resident of Dasarahalli.
Senior officer told reporters,that her husband Kanimadayya suspected that she was involved in an illicit relationship with a man from the same village.
The couple reportedly had frequent quarrels over the issue. On Sunday morning,an argument between them escalated,following which Kanimadayya allegedly attacked Nagamma with a machete.
Nagamma sustained severe injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
Upon receiving information,personnel from the Ramanagara Rural Police Station rushed to the scene, conducted an inspection,and registered a case.
The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway.
The victim’s body has been shifted for post-mortem examination.
