A newly opened hotel near Sompura Circle on NICE road gutted due to suspected short circuit on Thursday.
The fire broke out this afternoon at “Shuddha Tindi,” situated on Sompura circle on NICE road.The hotel that had commenced operations only last month.
The blaze is suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit in an idli steamer,which quickly escalated and engulfed the entire premises within minutes.
Eyewitnesses said the flames spread rapidly,leaving little time to control the situation.The hotel was reduced to ashes before firefighting teams could fully contain the blaze.
Fortunately,no casualties were reported.All staff members and few customers present inside the hotel at the time of the incident managed to escape safely.
The fire and emergency service personnel along with police and other officials are expected to conduct a detailed inspection to ascertain the exact cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.
