The city Police have warned of strict action against individuals involved in moral policing or activities that could disturb communal harmony during the upcoming Bakrid festival.
A Peace Committee Meeting was held at Sampigehalli Police Station under the Northeast Division to review security and law and order arrangements ahead of the festival.Similar meetings were also been held across the state headed by the district and unit heads .

The meeting was attended by police officials,religious leaders,mosque committee members,community representatives and local residents.
During the meeting,police appealed to citizens to celebrate Bakrid peacefully and refrain from posting provocative messages,fake news or inflammatory content on social media platforms.
Officials also instructed the public to immediately report suspicious activities,unlawful acts or untoward incidents to the police and advised citizens to use the emergency helpline number 112 in case of emergencies.
Police said strict action would also be taken against wheeling,display of weapons and public nuisance.
Special surveillance will be maintained in sensitive areas,while CCTV cameras will be installed at Eidgah grounds as part of the festival security arrangements.
Police officials reiterated that illegal activities and acts affecting public peace and communal harmony would not be tolerated.
