In a significant step towards strengthening rehabilitation and reintegration of prison inmates,the Karnataka Department of Prisons and Correctional Services on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with R.V.College of Engineering.
The collaboration aims to introduce structured programmes focused on skill development,digital literacy,and technology-enabled training to improve employability and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for inmates within correctional facilities.
The MoU was signed at the Prisons Headquarters in Bengaluru between Alok Kumar,Director General of Police (Prisons and Correctional Services),and K.N. Subramanya,Principal of RVCE.

Officials said the initiative reflects a growing emphasis on reformative justice by equipping inmates with practical skills and education to support their transition back into society.
Senior faculty members including Prof.B.Renuka Prasad, Prof.Ashwani Sharma,Prof.Padmashree T,along with P.V. Anand Reddy,Assistant Inspector General of Prisons, were present during the signing ceremony.
