A woman has alleged that she was chased down by 10-12 cab drivers after one of them overtook her in a rash manner,started confronting her,chased her down with bricks till her apartment,vandalised her car and even assaulted her father and other relatives when they confronted the gang.
Her father has filed a complaint with the Hulimavu Police Station and they’ve demanded the immediate arrest of all the people who assaulted them.
A woman was chased for a trivial row till her apartment and when her father and other relatives came to her rescue were assaulted by a group of men in front of his family over road rage in the apartment complex in BTM 4th stage in the wee hours of Sunday.
The victim Mohammed Ishtiyaq,a fruit merchant was repeatedly kicked and dragged while he was trying to defend .
He started bleeding from his mouth while the accused who barged into the apartment chasing my daughter has damaged her car before fleeing the spot.
The entire incident was captured on the CCTV cameras. The victim went to hospital to get treatment for his injuries before approaching the police.
Based on the complaint,the Hulimavu police have registered a case against a group of men charging them under sections 118(1) (voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 324(4) (mischief), 329(4) (criminal trespass) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of BNS on Monday.
According to the FIR,Mr.Ishtiaq,58,was driving his car at 2.50 am on August 10 towards his house whe a cab driver tried to stop his car alleging that his vehicle touched the car .
When he tried to speed away,the suspects allegedly attacked the vehicle with stones damaging the windshield.
Ishtiaq told the police that the unknown people followed him and trespassed inside his apartment complex at BTM Layout 4th stage and began hurling expletives.
At the time,his family was also at the scene.When the victim tried to reason with them the group punched him repeatedly on the face .
Due to the attack his lower lip cut leading to the loosening of a few teeth and his jaw broken ,”the victim said in the FIR.
The Hulimavu police registered a case and arrested two accused and are on the lookout for the other accused to ascertain the cause of the attack and will be nabbed soon said a senior officer.
