In a citywide initiative aimed at ensuring unobstructed and pedestrian-friendly footpaths,the BBMP conducted encroachment clearance operations,unauthorized advertisement removals,and mass cleanliness drives across all eight zones today.
These activities were carried out under the leadership of the respective Zonal Commissioners and Joint Commissioners.
*East Zone:
In the East Zone,unauthorized advertisements were removed on the roads of Kushalnagar in Pulakeshinagar Ward Ward 31.Encroachment clearance and cleanliness drives were conducted in Indiranagar,CV Raman Nagar Division.
Additionally,public grievance meetings were held in Sarvagnanagar under the chairmanship of the Zonal Commissioner, in Vasanthnagar,Shivajinagar Division led by the Joint Commissioner,and in other divisions under the leadership of the respective Executive Engineers.
*West Zone:
In the West Zone,cleanliness and footpath encroachment clearance operations were undertaken in various localities under Govindarajanagar Subdivision, including Ward 104,Govindarajanagar,Ward 125, Marenahalli,CHBS Layout,8th Main Road MC Layout,and West of Chord Road Service Roads.A total penalty of Rs.7,100 was collected from encroachers.
*South Zone:
Encroachment removal operations were carried out in Kalasipalya,Kumbharagundi, BTM Layout 7th Main Road, Hosakerehalli Main Road,and Jayanagar.Cleanliness drives were held in Srinagar and 2nd Cross Road of New Timber Yard Layout.
In Ward 166,Karisandra of Padmanabhanagar Division, a shop named ‘Sangeetha Package’ was found selling single-use plastic bags.A fine of Rs.10,000 was imposed, and the shop owner was warned against using such plastics.
*Dasarahalli Zone:
Encroachment clearance was conducted along Hegganahalli Main Road in the Hegganahalli Subdivision of the Dasarahalli Zone.
*Mahadevapura Zone:
In Mahadevapura Zone,footpath encroachment clearance and cleanliness drives were conducted in Doddanekundi,B.Narayanapura Ward, and Brookefield areas. Unauthorized advertisements were removed in Pattandur, AECS Layout,and Kalkere areas.
*Yelahanka Zone:
In Yelahanka Zone,operations were carried out at GKVK Horticulture Junction in Bettahalli Layout,Kempegowda Ward,Ward 01,MS Palya Ward Ward 03,and along Coffee Board Main Road.
Mass cleaning and encroachment clearance were undertaken, and unauthorized OFC cables were removed from Amruthahalli Main Road.
Additionally,Rs.9,000 in fines were collected for encroachments along Nanjappa Main Road.
*Rajarajeshwarinagar Zone:
In the Rajarajeshwarinagar Zone,encroachment clearance,unauthorized advertisement removal,and mass cleanliness drives were conducted along Shankarnag Circle to Satellite Club Circle on Kommaghatta Main Road in Kengeri Division,and from BDA Complex in Annapurneshwari Nagar to Muddenahalli Main Road in Rajarajeshwarinagar Division.
Single-use plastic usage was identified in several shops, and 26 cases led to fines totaling Rs.31,600.Additionally, 25 cases of littering on roads and footpaths resulted in fines amounting to Rs.62,500.
*Bommanahalli Zone:
Mass cleanliness drives were conducted in Yelachenahalli,Vasanthapura,Rajyotsavanagar,and Uttarahalli Wards under Bommanahalli Zone.
During these operations,key BBMP officials including Chief Engineers,Executive Engineers,Assistant Engineers,and Marshals were present and supervised the activities.
