A senior citizen and a minor boy were electrocuted while pumping out rain water from the basement of an apartment they were living in NS palya in BTM 2 stage on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Manmohan Kamath,63 and Dinesh,12,son of a security guard of the apartment.
The incident occurred at around 6.15 pm when Kamath wanted to pump out rain water and borrowed the motor from outside and connected it to the wire board.
Police suspect that part of the wire which was ruptured came in contact with the water and electrocuted due to short circuit as soon as it was connected to the switch board.
Kamath and the the boy identified as Dinesh who was watching this got electrocuted and died on the spot.
The other residents managed to disconnect the motor and pulled the both out and rushed to the near by hospital where the doctor declared them brought dead.
The mico layout police have registered a case of un natural death and further investigations are on.
