The Tumakuru District Police have arrested a Delhi-based man and booked his associates for allegedly manufacturing and selling duplicate “Jeeni Slim Powder”and other products using fake labels and containers.
The case was registered at Kallambella Police Station following a complaint filed on August 14, 2025,by Dhanalakshmi,owner of Jeeni Company,alleging misuse of her firm’s trademark.
The accused were allegedly selling counterfeit products online under the name“RK Traders,”posing serious health risks to consumers,including children.
Acting on the complaint,police formed a special team under the guidance of Superintendent of Police K V Ashok and other senior officers.
The team tracked down a warehouse in Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi,and conducted a raid on March 27,2026.
During the raid,officials seized large quantities of fake Jeeni products along with counterfeit Ayurvedic tablets, cosmetic creams and powders commonly used by the public.
Investigations revealed that the accused were operating under multiple firm names, including RK Traders, MK Traders and MHK Traders, and had been running the operation for nearly one-and-a-half years.
Police said the accused were manufacturing the products without any approvals from regulatory authorities.
In many cases,ordinary wheat flour was packed and sold as “Jeeni Slim Powder”and other Ayurvedic products using duplicate branding.
The prime accused,Rajeev Khanna (56),was apprehended in Delhi on March 28 and produced before the Rohini Court,where police secured a transit warrant before bringing him to Karnataka.
He was later produced before a court in Sira and taken into police custody for further interrogation.
His sons,Himanshu Khanna (29) and Manan Khanna (25),are also named as accused and are believed to have assisted in the illegal operation.
Police estimates suggest that the racket caused losses of over Rs.15 lakh to the Jeeni company,while similar frauds involving other brands could run into crores.
Superintendent of Police Ashok has urged the public to exercise caution while purchasing products online and verify authenticity to avoid falling victim to counterfeit goods.Further investigation is on.
