More trouble for RR nagar MLA,Munirathna after a 40-year-old woman on Tuesday accused him of gang raping her with associates and threatened her with dire consequences at his office two years ago .
Based on the complaint the RMC yard police charged Munirathna and four of his associates charging them under section 376D(gang rape),270 (maliciously doing any act to spread dangerous disease)323(voluntarily causing hurt) 354(outrage modesty),506( criminal intimidation) and 509 ( insult of woman’s modesty) of IPC.
According to the complaint,the accused had a grudge against the victim for being BJP party workers and using his influence foisted two false cases against her.
While she was on bail in June 2023 his associates approached her and took her to Munirathna’s office in JP park yeshwantpur promising help.
The accused confronted her forcibly raped her promised to help her drop the cases against her .
He threatened to kill the victim’s son when she refused and even urinated on her to humiliate.He also forced his associates to rape her one by one and later injected her with some medicine and shouted at her that she would suffer for life.
The accused later dropped her home and threatened to kill her and family if she revealed the incident to anyone.
The victim developed health complications in January this year and went to the hospital where the doctor confirmed she was having EDR virus which is an untreatable disease.
Unable to bear this she even attempted to end her life on Monday by consuming excessive doses of pills but her neighbour saved her by taking her to doctor.After recovery she approached the police and filed complaint.
