*Details of Widespread Rainfall Across BBMP Zones Last Night.

Following widespread overnight rainfall in Bengaluru city, Administrator Tushar Giri Nath and Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao visited various rain-affected locations today to assess the situation on the ground.

*Administrator Inspects Sai Layout:

Administrator Tushar Giri Nath visited Sai Layout in Mahadevapura, conducting inspections across multiple areas using a tractor to inspect inundated localities.

Speaking to the media following his inspection, he stated that Sai Layout and the surrounding areas were waterlogged.

He mentioned that a widening of the railway vent near Geddalahalli is necessary and that work has already been initiated through issued work orders.Instructions have been given to expedite the completion of the project.

Rainwater from areas including Hebbal Valley and Nagavara flows through a storm water drain that passes via Geddalahalli, and since Sai Layout is situated at a lower elevation, it is prone to flooding.

He clarified that apart from this locality, no other nearby areas are experiencing waterlogging.

He added that the BDA (Bangalore Development Authority) is executing the drainage work, but legal action by individuals has delayed its completion.

Meanwhile, food and drinking water arrangements have been made for residents in the flooded areas, and shelter provisions are also being planned.

*Chief Commissioner Inspects Bellandur:

Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao inspected the inlet junction near Bellandur Lake along with other concerned officials.

Due to reduced width at the confluence of major storm water drains K-100 and K-200,water flow has been impeded, leading to waterlogging in Madiwala’s Dollars Colony, Koramangala 6th Block, and Ejipura areas.

To address this,a temporary bund was cleared using a JCB near Bellandur to ensure smooth drainage of rainwater.Instructions were given to the concerned officials for immediate resolution of the issue.

*Visit to Command & Control Centre:

Both the Administrator and Chief Commissioner also visited the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) and the central control room to review real-time updates on issues caused by the rainfall. They directed zonal officials to promptly address and resolve all reported issues.

BDA Commissioner,Jayaram,Chief Engineers,Ranganath and Rajesh,Executive Engineers, and other concerned officials were present during the visits.
