Following a CCTV trail,the Byatarayanapura police have track down a couple who had abandoned their new born daughter in an autorickshaw as she had cleft lip.
The incident occurred on the early hours of April 24, when residents of Byatarayanapura heard a baby cry from the autorickshaw parked in front of the house.They found the baby girl and alerted the police .
The police handed over the baby to child welfare committee officials while stepped up the investigations headed by ACP,Bharath Reddy .
While verifying the CCTV footage the team found a couple walking with the baby and walked away after putting the baby in the parked autorickshaw.
The police analyzed over 150 CCTV footage to track down the couple finally to Virajapete.Probe revealed that the accused identified as Papanna,a private firm employee,married and father of three children,had an affair with a widow aged around 30 years a single mother of five year old boy .
She delivered a baby and found that it has physical deformity with a cleft lip.In order to get rid of her they decided to abandon the baby and came to Bengaluru by bus and dumped in an autorickshaw.
The police arrested Papanna and reunited the baby with the woman with a warning to take care of the baby.
The police have informed the local CWC members to keep an eye on the woman and taken Papanna into custody for further investigation.
