Waste paper mart owner arrested by Magadi Road Police for attempting to mow down police personnel while on duty

The Magadi road police on Saturday arrested a 33 year old waste paper mart owner for trying to mow down police personnel who were on random vehicle check on west of chord road service road on last Monday.

The accused mahadevaswamy Ramachari was on the run after injuring head constable Dharanappa and constable Karthik and damaging their two wheeler.

The duo along with their senior officer as sub inspector Manjunath NV were on special duty to check vehicles when they tried to stop the vehicle driven by Mahadevaswamy.

The accused drove fast the barricades area and stopped few meters away abruptly.

Head constable Dharanappa and Karthik went in a bike to question him,following which he tried to mow them down and sped away.

Based on the complaint by Manjunath,the Magadi road police on tuesday registered a case against Mahadevaswamy charging him under attempt to murder, voluntary causing hurt, assault or use of criminal force against public servant and also under prevention of damage to public property.

The police analysed the CCTV footage from in and around the area to identify the car registration number and arrested him.
