Kannada film actor Darshan directed to surrender his licensed firearm before police

More trouble to kannada film actor Darshan as the police issued a notice asking him to deposit his licensed weapon at the jurisdictional police station near to his house.

Even though the notice was issued to him a fortnight ago,he is yet to respond and has not complied to the notice.

Taking a strong objection,the officials at the commission of police contemplating cancelling his licence.

The Rajarajeshwari Nagar police had sent a request to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (administration) a month ago, seeking cancellation of the license for Darshan’s firearm.

The request was sent following the Karnataka High Court granting bail to him in the Renukaswamy murder case.

Senior officer said,as the accused is out on bail,there are chances that he may threaten the witnesses using a firearm. Hence, the notice has been served for the safe deposit of the weapon.

Renukaswamy,working at a medical store and native of India Chitradurga, was found murdered near a stormwater drain in west Bengaluru’s Summanahalli. Police arrested Darshan,his close friend Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others in connection with the murder.

On December 13,the High Court of Karnataka granted conditional bail to Darshan,who was already out on interim bail on medical grounds.

The city police have also move to supreme court challenging his bail.
