Realtor arrested by Tumakuru Town Police for forging Home Minister’s letterhead to obtain VIP pass for Tirumala Darshan

The Tumakuru town police on Saturday arrested a 30-year-old realtor who forging the letter head of Home Minister G Parameshwar to avail VIP passes which he was reportedly selling it to his customers for a price ranging from Rs.6,000 to Rs.10,000 per pass .

The accused identified as Maruthi Hanumantharayappa , resident of Yelahanka new town also used Home Minister’s picture on his DP to make calls to the AP chief minister office to seek privileges under VIP quota and even threatened the staff with dire consequences and get them suspended if they failed to comply .

The accused according to the police,was running the racket for sometime until the Home Minister’s office was alerted.

The Home Minister staff when called Maruthi to cross check,he not only abused and threatened the staff but also threatened to defame Home minister by making false allegation and demanded ₹ 2 lakh from the staff.

Based on a complaint,a special team was formed who track down the accused Maruthi at his residence and arrested him.The police also recovered a computer and printer which the accused used to forge the home minister letter head .

Explaining the modus operandi,the accused would get the money from his customer prepare a fake official letter head of Home Minister and write the names of his clients and their details addressed to the AP Chief Minister office.

The accused would even call the CM office staff from his mobile where he was put the Home Minister picture as DP in his mobile phone to make it look like genuine call.

This act has put the Home Minister in embarrassing situation.The accused has been booked under cheating forgery, impersonation,extortion and cheating for further investigation.
