Jayadeva Heart Care Sub-Center and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at KC General Hospital, Malleshwaram Inaugurated,Community Health Centers to be linked with six commander centres,says CM Bommai

50-bed cardiac care facility inaugurated at KC General hospital by Chief Minister,Basavaraj Bommai,along with Health and Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar,Higher Education Minister,Dr.C.N.Ashwath Narayana, MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao,Jayadeva Hospital Director Dr.C.N.Manjunath,Indira Gandhi Child Hospital Director, Dr.Sanjay,Randeep D,IAS, Commissioner,Health and Family Welfare govt of Karnataka,and Dr Indira R Kabade, Medical Superintendent KC General hospital with other senior doctors were present.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said six commander centres will be linked to the Community Health Centers to give suggestions and instructions by a team of doctors who will work 24 X 7 through telemedicine.

He was speaking after inaugurating 50-beded strength of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular sciences and Research (Satellite Centre) at K.C.General Hospital and dedication of ICU at Indira Gandhi Child Health here on Thursday, he said 100 Primary Health Centres will be upgraded as Community Health Centres and provide facilities and increase bed strength at a cost of Rs 7 lakh to 8 lakh each.

The upgraded Community Health Centres and the existing centres would be linked with telemedicine systems.

As many as 81 new PHCs’ are being constructed. It has been decided to conduct free health checkup camps in village and taluk levels for senior citizens.

A similar health camp will be held for the 60 plus population at zonal level in Bengaluru City.The program of free eye testing for senior citizens, free surgery,if necessary and free spectacles will be given to the poor.

For the hearing impaired,free implant surgery will be conducted. For these healthcare activities,Rs. 500 crore has been earmarked.

The dialysis cycle has been increased from 30,000 to 60,000.Even the Chemotherapy centres have been increased.Rules will be simplified for the use of Ayushman Cards,he added.

*Namma Clinic*

Bommai said 430 ‘Namma Clinics are being started in the State of which 240 clinics will be in Bengaluru with one each in every ward.

Steps are taken to establish four multi-speciality hospitals in the State.In Bengaluru,the upgradation of 20 PHCs are underway.

The Satellite Centre which has been established with the cooperation of Jayadeva and KC General Hospital and Department of Health is a model and the same can be replicated in other places.

The government will provide all the assistance in this regard.The government will think over establishing MCH Hospital and Trauma centre in K C General Hospital.

He said health for all is the duty of both the government and the private sectors.The K.C.General Hospital has earned a good name by providing a quality service to the people and the hospital staff deserves to be appreciated.

Those who work in the government sector are bound by duty as well as social responsibility. The government is giving impetus to education, health and women and child welfare.A healthy society will alone in the development of a nation.

Dr CN Ashwath Narayana,Higher Education Minister said,Since 1910, KC General has expanded, continuing to provide quality healthcare.It is also awarded ‘Ayushman Utkrishtata Puraskaar’ by National Health Authority (NHA) this year for linking the highest no. of patient health records to Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA).

Healthcare Model, where each PHC has diagnostic capabilities & is tied up with a Hi-tech Centre to provide the hub-spoke facility and access to specialists he said.
