Six Notorious Bike lifters arrested,38 Stolen Vehicles worth Rs.30 Lakhs Recovered by Southeast Division police

C lose to the heels of stepping up patrolling to monitor growing vehicle thefts cases,the Southeast division managed to crack two cases and arrested six persons to recover 38 two wheelers worth ₹ 30 lakh from them.

City police Commissioner,Pratap Reddy had directed the jurisdictional police to step up patrolling and also put up check points at the entry and exit routes across the city to monitor growing offences of bike theft and house breaks in his recent review meetings.

Based on a bike theft case reported in Koramangala Inspector,DN Nataraj and his team analyzed over 50 CCTV footage before zeroing in on one of the accused and arrested him.

The accused roped in three of his associates from Tamilnadu to move around the residential areas to steal parked bikes outside the houses.

The accused would break the handles and manipulate the wiring to ride across the border overnight to reach Tamilnadu.

The accused would then sell the stolen bikes to people in the remote villagers without documents for throwaway prices and share the booty,CK Baba,DCP, Southeast,who supervised the investigations, said .

Based on the confession the police recovered 29 stolen bikes worth Rs.15 lakh from the accused and taken them into custody for further investigations.

In a similar incident,the alert Bandepalya police busted another bike theft cases arrested two persons and recovered nine bikes worth Rs.15 lakh.

Constables,Firoz Ghazni and his associate Sandeep Kamble were on patrolling duty on Mangammanapalya main road conducting random vehicle check when the duo was caught.

A detailed questioning led them to confess that they are from Hosur and used to come in bus , move around the area to identify and steal parked bikes and ride it back to Tamilnadu and sell them without documents.
