QIndustry and IT Minister KT Rama Rao said that if industries are not established in the lands allotted by the government, they will be repossessed. They said that they have already taken back 1234 acres. He criticized that after the formation of Telangana, there were no irregularities in the land given for industries in the state, but many irregularities took place during the Congress government and the lands were misused in the name of industries and studios. The state legislature and council approved 8 bills on Tuesday. Minister KTR spoke on the occasion of the amendment of the Land Regularization Act of Azamabad Industrial Area. “Even if there is a delay in taking land for industries…we are canceling the allocations if the employment targets are not achieved. During the Congress government in Musheerabad, 136.4 acres were allotted to 58 companies for setting up industries. In 2003, the government issued directives to move the polluting industries to the outer through GO No. 20. Currently 36 companies are running there… 22 companies have sub-leased their land. As the lease term has expired, we have decided to regularize the respective lands to some extent and use the rest of the lands for industrial purposes. We will arrange 100 percent registration fee for existing companies. We will arrange 200 percent registration fee for other eligible companies. We will move the fish market in Ramnagar to Azamabad and build it there in a modern way. Apart from this, we use Azamabad lands for commercial purposes as well. “We will take some of the land of Bus Bhavan on one side and give some on the other side,” he said. Speaking on this, the leader of the Congress Legislature Party, Bhattivikramamarka, asked to clarify what will be done with the lands of the closed industries.
