Man Dies by Suicide After Jumping from 13th Floor in Bengaluru;Debt,Harassment Alleged

A 45-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the 13th floor of an under-construction apartment building in Sampigehalli police station limits on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Vivekananda (45). According to police,he had visited the apartment complex on the pretext of inspecting a flat for purchase.

He later went to the 13th floor and allegedly jumped.Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was under severe financial stress.

He had reportedly borrowed large sums of money,and creditors were allegedly pressuring him for repayment. Police suspect that mounting debt may have driven him to take the extreme step.

Police rushed to the spot and conducted an inspection. A case has been registered,and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile,family members of the deceased have alleged that a complaint had earlier been filed against Vivekananda with the CCB police,and claimed that he was subjected to harassment during questioning.

Authorities have not officially confirmed these allegations,and inquiries are ongoing said a senior officer.
