The East Division police of Baiyyapanahalli police on Sunday arrested an Ivory D Coast National who was into drug peddling and seized MDMA worth Rs 5 lakh.
The accused has been identified as,Soro Ali alias Chuks a resident of Ivory D Coast National.
Senior officer told media persons,as a war on drugs is being conducted across city to control the drugs menace special Anti-Narcotics Squad team is formed in every station.
Based on a tip off, a team headed by PI, Baiyyapanahalli and team swung into action and after keeping a close watch on the Foreign National.
The team nabbed the accused identified as Soro Ali alias Chuks on old Madras road and recovered the drugs.
He was taken into custody and during the investigations the police found that he had come to India on business Visa and was residing in Halasuru.
The accused was illegally staying in the city for the last few months and came into contact with drug peddlers to sell it to students for a high price a case under NDPS Act and Foreigners Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on he added.
