Ahead of New Year resolution;State Police Chief instructs units head to conduct awareness programs at schools and college in their jurisdiction to make state free from drugs

In a special drive against narcotics and creating awareness, the state police head has asked the units head to conduct awareness programs at schools and colleges in their jurisdiction.

Officers of the rank of PSI upto Superintendent of police or DCPs should visit the schools on December 20 across the state,and organise,presentations,debates or talks at schools and colleges to bring awareness on the ill effect of drugs and narcotics.The state police remains committed to make the state free from drugs and narcotics, Mr. Alok Mohan, said .

This is not knew the city police have already conducting such awareness programs at school and college level to keep a check on students and inform them about the I’ll effects and legal aspects.

In some areas the police have also formed some groups and individual students to inform the police about any such activities in their campus.

This will not only helps to students to become law abiding citizen but also take pride in fighting against drug menace, a senior police officer, part of the earlier campaign, said.

In addition to narcotics the students will also be told to stay away from tabacco and realated products as this is considered as the first step in the addiction.
