The Bengaluru Traffic Police on Monday and Tuesday conducted a special enforcement drive against helmet rule violations across the city and booked more than 9000 cases within three hours on Monday Tuesday.
The special drive was carried out on May 26&27 between 6 am and 9 am targeting two-wheeler riders and pillion riders travelling without helmets.
According to police,a total of 4,351 cases were registered during the operation.Of these,2,920 cases were booked against riders travelling without helmets, while 1,430 cases were registered against pillion riders not wearing helmets.
As on 27-5-26 in 3 hours cops booked Without helmet-Rider-3084,Pillion rider without Helmet- Pillion rider-1533.
Total-4617 booked for riding without helmet.
In two days around 9000 motorists booked for not wearing helmet and pillion rider not wearing helmets and we appeal to citizens to wear standard ISI mark helmets .
Police said wearing helmets is mandatory for both riders and pillion riders under traffic safety regulations.
The department stated that such enforcement drives would continue regularly to prevent serious injuries and fatalities in road accidents.
