A 60-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her grandson following a family dispute in Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta police station limits on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Gouramma(60),a resident of Kenchenahalli.
The accused, identified as her grandson Prajwal,is absconding, and police have launched a search to trace and arrest him.
According to police,the incident occurred around 11 pm when an argument reportedly broke out between the grandmother and grandson at their house.
During the quarrel,Prajwal allegedly attacked Gouramma with a knife,inflicting fatal injuries,before fleeing the scene.
On receiving information,Bannerghatta police rushed to the spot,conducted an inspection,and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered,and efforts are underway to apprehend the accused.Police are investigating the exact motive behind the murder,with preliminary information indicating that it stemmed from a family dispute.
