A daring attempted murder unfolded at the Gymkhana Club,located adjacent to the Belagavi Police Commissioner’s Office,when a group of armed assailants stormed the premises and allegedly tried to shoot a man playing cards.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras.
According to preliminary information,five accused arrived at the club,with two waiting outside while three entered the rummy club where Suresh Jalagar was playing cards.
Senior officer told reporters that the assailants allegedly assaulted Jalagar by striking him on the head with a firearm before attempting to open fire.

Jalagar reportedly pushed one of the attackers away and managed to flee, narrowly escaping the gunshots.
The CCTV footage shows two armed men chasing Jalagar inside the club with firearms in hand.After failing to execute the attack,the accused allegedly came out of the building, fired two rounds into the air,and fled the scene.
Belagavi Police Commissioner Bhushan Borase visited the spot,inspected the scene of the crime,and reviewed the CCTV footage.Police later detained Suresh Jalagar for questioning.
During interrogation,Jalagar alleged that the attack was orchestrated by associates of Prafull Patil in retaliation for an earlier firing incident in which Jalagar had allegedly shot at Patil.
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Camp Police Station.Police have registered a case, secured CCTV footage,and launched a manhunt to trace the accused.Further investigation is in progress.
