Bengaluru Pub Employee Dies by Suicide Months After Alleged Assault

A 27-year-old man from Tripura allegedly died by suicide in Bengaluru after reportedly suffering severe psychological distress following an assault that left him with serious injuries to his private parts.

The deceased has been identified as Tapan Nath (27), who was working at a pub in Koramangala and staying in a rented accommodation in Ejipura under the limits of Viveknagar Police Station.

Senior officer said Nath failed to report for work on July 12. At around 11.30 pm,his roommate returned home and found him hanging.

A case has been registered at Viveknagar Police Station based on a complaint lodged by his family.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that around three to four months ago,Nath was allegedly assaulted by his friends during a drunken altercation at a party.The attack reportedly caused grievous injuries to his private parts.

Out of embarrassment,Nath allegedly sought medical treatment without informing his family.His relatives claimed that doctors later told him the injuries could affect his ability to father children in the future,leaving him severely depressed.

His family has alleged that the emotional trauma caused by the assault drove him to take the extreme step and has sought action against those responsible.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to his death.
