A major fire broke out after a petrol tanker crashed into a tree near the 11th Mile in Doddaballapur taluk on Wednesday.
According to preliminary information,the petrol tanker caught fire immediately after the accident.
The flames quickly spread to a nearby milk tanker that was reversing at the time.Both drivers managed to jump out of their vehicles in time,escaping without injuries.
The fire engulfed both tankers,leaving them almost completely destroyed.Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after an intensive operation.
Initial reports indicate that overspeeding may have been the cause of the accident.Police have registered a case at the Doddabelavangala Police Station and further investigation is underway.
