Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today said that the State government was trying to develop the rest of Karnataka by building growth centres outside Bengaluru.

Speaking at the Target India event held at Manyata Tech Park,the CM said,”Our government is moving forward to build more Bengaluru’s beyond Bengaluru.
We are committed to providing all the facilities available in Bengaluru to the state’s tier-2 and tier-3 cities as well.”
“Office space rent in Bengaluru is between $1 and $1.5. In tier-2 and tier-3 cities,it’s available for half a dollar.
We are moving forward to offer double FAR there, thereby enabling the construction of multi-storey buildings in those cities too.
We are providing high-quality education in Karnataka. We remain open to your suggestions,”he said.
“We are ready to give you all the support you need to grow strong.If you become strong,we too can become strong.
All of you are partners and ambassadors of Karnataka’s progress.We will work with you for the progress of this State and the country.
We are all one team — ‘Team Karnataka’.Let’s all work together.Coming together is a beginning,thinking together is progress,working together is success,”he said.
*Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore to Be Spent on Bengaluru Development:
“Every month,30,000 new vehicles are being registered in Bengaluru.That’s why we are prioritizing smooth traffic movement.
We have already planned 350 km of metro connectivity, and aim to extend it to 500 km by next year,”he said.
You are all facing traffic congestion near Hebbal.That’s why we have launched a small tunnel road project.In addition,we are moving ahead to build a 40 km tunnel road in Bengaluru,which will be discussed in the upcoming Cabinet meeting and an order issued as soon as possible.
Along with these,we have planned a 44 km double-decker flyover project.We have planned a 133 km flyover project.We are also constructing a 123 km Bengaluru Business Corridor.
We are spending Rs 26,000 crore on the first phase.This is how we are moving toward Bengaluru’s progress.We are spending Rs.1.5 lakh crore on Bengaluru’s development,”he informed.

“Our state has talented human resource.We have 257 engineering colleges in our State, producing 1.5 lakh engineers every year.Your presence here today is proof of the trust placed in us.Thank you for trusting us.
Through your suggestions,you are giving this state a new shape.No one who has worked with us has gone back. Bengaluru is a global city,and India is seen through Bengaluru.
The Prime Minister has said that we should provide industries the support they need in Bengaluru,and that he too will join hands with us,”he said.
“Companies that have come to Karnataka have recognized the capability and talent here.We are giving greater priority to research going forward,and are prioritizing setting up industries not just in Bengaluru but in other parts of Karnataka as well.
Our friends have expressed the view that Maharashtra has become expensive for industries,making Karnataka a better choice for them.
Everyone wants to finish office work and reach home within 30-40 minutes.Karnataka is taking all these factors into consideration,”he said.
“The culture and climate here are Bengaluru’s biggest strengths.We aim to achieve progress while preserving our culture.
We are clearing encroachments on footpaths in Bengaluru,while making alternative arrangements for street vendors,”he said.
There are 138 international schools in the country, of which 40 are in Karnataka and Bengaluru.Two lakh foreign passport holders are working in Bengaluru.
“We will meet your expectations.The Bengaluru Tech Summit will offer all of you an opportunity, and it is one of the country’s biggest tech summits.We are prioritizing the establishment of industries in tier-2 and tier-3 cities,” he said.

Speaking to the media after the event,Shivakumar said, “More than 200 GCC representatives took part in this event.They gave the government many suggestions.
Discussions were held on smooth traffic in Bengaluru, Beyond Bengaluru,and research and innovation here.Our government will take steps to meet their needs.We have indicated that we will provide land at lower prices to start industries in tier 2 and tier 3 cities.”
When asked about setting up an AI university,he replied, “We are thinking about setting up an AI university.We have sought suggestions on this. Our aim is that what the world needs should be provided from Bengaluru.”
