*Target to administer the polio vaccine to 60,84,911 children.
*A healthy state and nation can be built from a healthy family.
*Our state’s health services are unmatched anywhere in the country.
Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today appealed to get polio vaccine administered to all their children within the age of five years.

“The government has launched the Pulse Polio vaccination drive, and parents in all parts of the state should get children under five vaccinated.
A healthy state and nation can be built from a healthy family,”he said after launching the Pulse Polio vaccination programme at his Sadashivanagar residence.
“Health Minister U T Khader is very smart. My granddaughter is one month old,so he chose my house. Khader decided to launch this programme at my home itself,so that this campaign would begin from the Chief Minister’s house,”he said.
“In this programme,a total of 1,14,213 vaccination workers are at work, including across 36,686 vaccination centres,988 mobile centres and 2,125 transit points.
Many NGOs have joined hands in the campaign.I wholeheartedly extend my best wishes to everyone who has cooperated in this programme of service to the nation,”he said.
“Our government has decided to administer the polio vaccine to 60,84,911 children. In 1972,Indira Gandhi started a polio vaccination programme so that the country’s children would stay healthy.
During Rajiv Gandhi’s time it was launched as a campaign.During Manmohan Singh’s time,India became a polio-free country,”he said.
*Our state’s health services are unmatched anywhere in the country:
“Programmes have been designed at every stage for building a healthy Karnataka. Our non-governmental organisations and officials are extending excellent cooperation, and I congratulate them.
This country has been made polio-free.Khader has vast experience, and he has taken on this responsibility. Our state’s Health and Medical Education departments are strong, and people from outside are coming here for health tourism. They are coming to our state for healthcare,”he said.
“In our state,we produce 13,940 doctors every year.We are producing 1.07 lakh healthcare personnel.Nowhere in all of India is there medical care of this quality.
Those who studied in our state’s colleges and became doctors are providing excellent service in many countries around the world.
For the past three years, our government has been giving priority approval to the proposals of the Health department and the Medical Education department,”he said.
