Two people,including a student,died due to electrocution in separate incidents amid heavy rain that lashed parts of the city on Wednesday evening.
In the first incident reported from Yarab Nagar,a student identified as Syed Sufiyan lost his life after coming into contact with a live electric source.



According to family members,Sufiyan,who had recently passed his First PUC examination,had stepped out during the rain to park his motorcycle when electricity allegedly leaked from a nearby pole,leading to his death.
His body has been shifted to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem examination.Police said a case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
In another incident,a 35-year-old man,identified as Raghu,a resident of J.D. Mara slum,died of electrocution near the Sarakki bus stop close to Vega City Mall on Bannerghatta Road.
The incident occurred around 8:25 pm under the jurisdiction of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) South Zone.
Police have taken up both cases and are probing the exact cause of the electrical leak.
According to preliminary reports,Sufiyan had come to the area to purchase clothes.As rain intensified,he was attempting to park his two-wheeler when he came into contact with a live electric wire that had snapped and fallen along a stretch of nearly 50 metres.He died on the spot due to electrocution.
His mother,Ume Salma,who was present at the scene, reportedly collapsed after witnessing her son’s death. Locals rushed both to a nearby hospital, but Sufiyan was declared dead.
