Unidentified miscreant robbed Sales executive at knife point in cottonpet and made away with Rs.1.3 lakhs

An unidentified miscreant allegedly robbed a 25-year-old man of cash,cheques and a mobile phone at knifepoint near BDG Lane Ranasinghpet in the Cottonpet area of the city recently.

The complainant,Ravi Prajapati,a native of Ajmer district in Rajasthan,has been residing in Bengaluru for the past 12 years.

He is employed as a sales executive at a clothes wholesale shop in the city and was responsible for collecting payments from retailers across various districts.

According to the complaint,on the night of February 5, after collecting payments,Ravi got down from a bus at Majestic bus stand around 12.30 am and was walking towards his residence when an unknown person accosted him near BDG lane in Ranasinghpet.

The accused allegedly threatened him with a knife and robbed him of Rs.1.30 lakh in cash,eight cheques of various denominations,grocery purchase receipts and a mobile phone.

The stolen mobile phone reportedly had an outstanding EMI balance of Rs.10,000.After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene.

Based on the complaint,cottonpet police have registered a case and launched a search to trace the accused. Further investigation is underway.
