A 38-year-old woman was killed and her colleague was injured when a speeding truck knocked down the scooter they were riding near Krishnanandanagar Junction in the Rajajinagar traffic police station limits on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kalpana,a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout,who was employed in a private company in Peenya 2nd Stage.Her husband works as graphic designer in Kannada Newspaper ( Prajavani) .
Senior officer said the incident occurred at around 9.30 am,when Kalpana,along with her colleague,was heading to their office after dropping her daughter at school.
A speeding truck knock down the scooter causing Kalpana to fall on the left side and slipped under the rear wheel of the truck ran over Kalpana.
Her colleague riding the bike fell on the safe sides escaped with injuries.Passers-by rushed both the injured to a nearby hospital,where Kalpana succumbed to her injuries.
The Rajajinagar traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving against the the truck driver for further investigation.
