Panic gripped among the residents of Govindashettipalya in Parappana Agrahara police station limits when parts of the skeleton was found in a roadside garbage dump on tuesday morning.
The incident occurred when Pourakarmikas were cleaning the garbage on the occasion and found the part of skulls and bones in the heap of the garbage.
The police based on the alert rushed to the spot and conducted a detailed probe and checked the CCTV footage before zeroing in on one of the resident .
Senior officer told reporters that a 51-year-old local resident had discarded the skeleton near a raja kaluve after a foul smell began emanating from his house.
His daughter,a second-year MBBS student at a private medical college in the city,had brought the skeleton for her studies.
While the police were conducting an inquiry at the spot, the man himself arrived and admitted that he had dumped the skeleton.
After verifying all details and cross-checking his claims, the police recorded his statement and issued a warning.
The skeletal remains has been handed over to the family for a disposal,a senior officer,said .
