Increase in the Number of Vande Bharat Trains a Strong Sign of India’s Economic Progress: Basavaraj Bommai

Haveri: Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai opined that the growing number of Vande Bharat trains operating in the country is a clear sign that India is making strong progress economically.

Today, at the Haveri railway station,Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the new Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat train in Bengaluru. The train was welcomed at Haveri, and Bommai gave it the green signal.

Today is a special day for Haveri—the second Vande Bharat Express is stopping here. The Bengaluru–Belagavi Vande Bharat Express will serve the people of Haveri.

For this,I congratulate our Prime Minister Narendra Modi,Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and State Minister V.Somanna,”he said.

“There had been strong demand for a Vande Bharat train to stop at Haveri.Prime Minister Modi has blessed us. Until now,one Vande Bharat train was operating between Hubballi and Bengaluru daily.

When the people of Haveri asked for one Vande Bharat train, the Prime Minister gave us two. This has brought joy to all of us. But behind this lies the story of India’s progress.

Earlier, trains ran on steam engines, then came diesel, and now we have electrification. In Karnataka, 99% of railway lines are electrified and double-gauge.

High-speed trains began during Narendra Modi’s tenure. Why didn’t this happen before? It is because of Modi’s foresight and his vision to make India a developed and powerful nation that railway and road infrastructure is being expanded rapidly.

Priority has been given to railway safety, food quality, and services on trains have improved. The entire image of the railways has changed,”he said.

State Government’s Cooperation is Essential
“The arrival of the second Vande Bharat in Haveri is a sign of India’s rapid economic progress.

Now, it takes only four and a half hours to travel from Bengaluru to Haveri, which has made many people happy.

Along with this, railway stations have been modernized. Haveri and Byadagi stations have been upgraded. A goods shed must be built in Haveri to transport products such as maize grown by farmers.

The Ranebennur goods shed should be expanded. Land acquisition for the Shivamogga–Ranebennur railway line must be expedited.

Railway projects can only be completed if the state government cooperates — the CM and DCM should not just criticize the central government. If the state government acquires land for the Gadag–Yelavigi project, it will start, providing connectivity to Kittur Karnataka and Kalyana Karnataka.

Likewise, if the Shivamogga–Ranebennur project is completed, Malnad will be connected to Kittur Karnataka and then to Kalyana Karnataka.

All works must be completed within the stipulated time. I also request that at least a lift be installed immediately at Haveri station,”he urged.

India Will Be Number One

“Former US President Donald Trump once said that India’s economy was dead.He should come here and see for himself.

I am confident that in the coming days, India will surpass even America to become number one. We will accelerate our growth and development.

We have a Prime Minister who works 18 hours a day, a courageous and visionary leader, Narendra Modi. We must support him in all development activities.

Development should reach every Indian, every poor person. I have wholeheartedly welcomed the Vande Bharat train in Haveri today,” Bommai said.

On this occasion, MLC S. V. Sankanur, DRM Mudit Mittal, former MLA Virupakshappa Ballari, City Municipal Council President Shashikala Malagi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nagaraj L, Additional Superintendent of Police Laxman Shirkol, along with railway officials and other dignitaries, were present.
