The special inspection drive regarding solid waste management continued for the second consecutive day at Nexus Mall,Koramangala,falling under the BTM Constituency limits of Bengaluru South City Corporation.
During the inspection,non-segregation of waste and the use of banned Single-Use Plastic (SUP) were detected in the mall’s food court outlets.
Rs.45,000 Fine on 6 Commercial Outlets at Nexus Mall:
During today’s inspection at Nexus Mall,Koramangala, the official team found that several prominent food court brands were flouting solid waste management norms by failing to segregate wet and dry waste at the source and using banned single-use plastic items.

Consequently,a total penalty of Rs.45,000 was imposed and collected from 6 commercial outlets.
*Details of Penalty Imposed on Outlets:
Subway- Rs.15,000,California Burrito-Rs.10,000,Taco Bell, Gochujang,Drinkal,and Squeeze-Rs.5,000 each.
Warning of Strict Action Against Violators:
All commercial establishments,restaurants,and mall outlets must strictly segregate waste at source and completely refrain from using banned single-use plastics.
Officials have cautioned that continuous surprise inspections will be carried out in the coming days,and stringent legal action will be initiated without leniency against violators harming the environment.
Health Inspectors and Marshals were present during this operation.
