As part of ‘Operation Muktha,Whitefield Division Police on Saturda
y conducted a special operation under Operation Muktha across the Whitefield Sub-Division to identify and verify suspected Bangladeshi nationals allegedly residing illegally in the city.
The operation was carried out across nine police station limits,with multiple teams deployed to residential areas to collect information and verify the identities and documents of suspected persons.
In KR Puram police station limits,seven teams comprising 45 police personnel checked 170 suspected individuals residing in areas including Shanti Layout,JC Layout,TC Palya Main Road,near the BWSSB office, Medahalli and Bhattarahalli.


In Mahadevapura police station limits,three teams involving 45 personnel verified 100 suspected persons living in Venkateshwara Layout, KGF Munireddy Layout, near Geetanjali School,Doddanekkundi,Hoodi, Seetharampalya,Shetty Layout,Udayanagar,Pai Layout and Ambedkar Nagar.
At Kadugodi,four teams comprising 31 police personnel checked 160 suspected individuals in areas including Seegehalli,near Sharada School and around the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Police identified 10 persons suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals,and verification of their documents and identities is underway.
In Whitefield police station limits,three teams involving 57 personnel checked 450 suspected individuals residing in Nallurhalli and Sorunise areas.
Meanwhile,in Avalahalli police station limits,three teams comprising 48 personnel conducted verification of 460 suspected persons across Avalahalli,Medahalli Lake, Kithaganur,Goravigere,Bommanahalli,Nimbekayipura, Bendiganahalli, Konadasapura, Margondanahalli, Halehalli and Cheemasandra.
Police said the exercise is aimed at identifying persons staying without valid documents and verifying their nationality and legal status. Further action will be taken based on the outcome of the document and identity verification.
The operation involved 15 teams and 226 police personnel across the five police station limits,with 1,340 suspected individuals verified so far.
DCP Whitefield,Saidulu Adavath told reporters a special drive was conducted across the jurisdictions of 09 police stations in Whitefield Division to identify and verify illegal immigrants.

Further action: The 37 illegal immigrants identified during the operation have been taken into custody for verification,and further legal action is being initiated in accordance with the applicable laws said Saidulu Adavath.
