We Demand the Resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi
The Movement for Gender and Sexual Pluralism strongly condemns the assault on democracy through the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk.
The Movement for Gender and Sexual Pluralism (MGSP) participated in the public protest held at Freedom Park, Bengaluru,expressing solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk and extending support to the struggle led by the Cockroach Janata Party.
Representing MGSP at the protest were State Co-Chairperson Aina Shaikh (Belagavi district), Manjunath,a leader from Hassan district,and Yuvaraj, Lokesh,Akash,Pooja,and Nisha Gulur from Bengaluru Urban district.
They demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking at the protest,MGSP State Co-Chairperson Aina Shaikh said that the Union Government is not only being unjust to students but is also perpetrating injustice against all oppressed communities.
She stated that when Parliament passed the Transgender Amendment Act,2026 during the last week of March,the government acted in an authoritarian manner by failing to consult transgender community,the National Transgender Committee appointed by it,or the opposition parties.She described this as an assault on democracy.
MGSP member Manjunath from Hassan said that the suicides of students are institutional killings caused by the system.
He added that making policies and laws without consulting the affected communities reflects the authoritarian mindset of the Union Government.
We cannot expect anything from such a government,”he said.He also affirmed that the Movement for Gender and Sexual Pluralism would continue to stand in solidarity with and participate in such struggles.
