A city court has sentenced a man to life imprisonment for murdering his father with an iron rod following a trivial domestic dispute.The court also imposed a fine of ₹5,000 on the convict.
The incident occurred in January last year at a residence in Rajajinagar 4th Block,where the accused,Raghu,fatally assaulted his father,Ramachandra,with an iron rod during an argument.
Based on a complaint,Rajajinagar Police registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched an investigation.
The charge sheet was filed by Investigating Officer Inspector,Pramod Kumar.
During the trial,State Public Prosecutors Chinnavenkataravanappa and R.V.Bhat represented the prosecution.
After examining the evidence and hearing arguments from both sides,Judge K.S.Bharat Kumar of the CCH-68 Court,Bengaluru,found Raghu guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a Rs.5,000 fine.
